Christmas Evening Market Success

Our Christmas evening market that took place on Thursday 13th December was hailed a great success.

Despite the weather being dismal, a festive atmosphere was still produced with over 60 stalls in attendance and increased footfall of 79.9% on the previous week.

Night Time Business Brochure

On behalf of the Night Time businesses we have launched a promotional brochure for all the bars, clubs an restaurants.

Over 10,000 copies have gone out in the town and to high footfall destinations outside of Mansfield such as student unions and hotels

Mansfield Garden and Craft Festival

The Trustees for the Allotments of the Labouring Poor commissioned the BID to reintroduce Mansfield’s garden festival.

It was held over two days on September 14th & 15th 2013.

It was a great success with over 8000 people attending over the two days.

The trustees have already signed up for the event to run again in September 2014 and plans are underway

Down Town Glossy Mag

We have developed a bespoke glossy magazine for the Town Centre. The aim is to raise our profile for other residents outside of Mansfield as well as highlighting what we have to offer.

This is our first edition and was offered to all businesses to be submitted in to it.

The distribution is as follows:

114 Tourist Information Centres through the East Midlands Region

29 Hotels through Nottingham

27 High Footfall destinations through Nottingham

38 High Footfall destinations through Nottinghamshire

6 Student Distributions

Various local dentists / opticians/ library / Four Seasons / Civic Centre

2000 Copies to Chesterfield residents to raise our profile

A winter edition is now in production and again all businesses are invited to go into the magazine on a first come first served basis

Privilege Card Success & Trent Barton join forces

The I Love Mansfield privilege card continues to be very popular and we are now reaching our 4000th member.

With your support by giving different offers the scheme continues to grow and entice people to shop local and support their town.

Due to the success of the scheme we have now been approached by Trent Barton buses who would to join forces with our card and their own Mango card. Trent Barton will now be funding the production of the cards as joint ones with their own, which means visitors can now also use the cards to top up their bus passes.

Not only will this give the BID a cost saving, but Mansfield and your business and offers will be promoted to over 50,000 Trent Barton members and advertised through their own website, facebook page and on their buses.

We are very excited to be working with Trent Barton on this scheme

A great deal of time and resource is given by the BID coordinator to ensure that the town is well marketed through both the Mansfield Town Centre website and social media, the range and scope of which to hit people with information with can not be underestimated.

Over the past 12 months this resources has paid off with some fantastic improvements:

92.8% increase of hits to the town centre website on average 60% of these are new visitors Over 2500 views to the I Love Mansfield Facebook page 1/3 of hits to the website are viewed via a mobile device

Up Our Street

The BID team wanted to stimulate footfall to all areas of the town and remind people what different businesses were available on each street in the town.

We developed a feature for the CHAD with a dedicated page per week to each of our streets in the town. We wanted to remind people of the history of the town whilst at the same time highlighting the new modern businesses on those streets and what offers and services were available.

Many of you came on board and helped to populate the feature, but even if you weren’t able to all our businesses were listed. The feature was well received and we hope it raised the profile of each if your streets.
